A ruck, of sorts...

Needed to do some wallpapering today so decided to brave a ruck on my own...got her onto my back no complaints and tied the ruck (not sure if it has any other fancy name other than it being a ruck and then proceeded to attempt to wallpaper...I don't think it was tight enough as reaching up to the ceiling Alice was almost lying flat...but marks for trying right?! As far as the decorating was concerned...I got annoyed with it and stormed off in a huff...

Ikea!

Carried Alice round Ikea today in my wrap. She fell asleep too in a hip carry!

Bit more babywearing recently!

Unfortunately I've been back at work for 3 days now...thankfully I only have 3 day weeks up to Christmas! Missing my girl terribly! If anyone has any ideas of a lucrative stay at home business then all ideas welcomed! Having a hard time adjusting to being back here I must say! Here's my desktop shrine which is getting me through the hours at work...even if it does make me miss her more! Lunchtime facetimes on my phone have been a must too! I'm a heap! Ha ha!

I met up with a Mum and her little girl from the Aberdeenshire Babywearers forum. We didn't get much experimenting with wraps done though unfortunately as Alice was a bit besides herself (which was very out of character!). I have also had alice in the wrap just a few times round the house, going to the shops etc.

Off to Edinburgh this weekend Christmas shopping, taking the pushchair for the main drag around the shops but hopefully get a bit of wrapping done too!

Shocking neglect again!

Haven't really been wrapping very much recently maybe the odd hip carry for convenience but that's about it.

However I have just joined the Aberdeenshire babywearers and also Scottish Babywearers and hopefully going to meet one of the mums from the aberdeenshire group on Monday and play with wraps!

Sad times, my maternity leave comes to an end on Monday and I am back to work on Tuesday. Only part time, 3 days a week until Christmas. I'm sharing maternity with my partner, so he is now off until Christmas! (Lucky sod!)

We have been on a few little holidays lately. Myself and the baby went to my parents for a week, whilst my partner and his dad insulated our freezer of a kitchen and knocked walls down (on purpose!)
Then we went up to my 'outlaws' for an early Christmas before Alice's granny jets off to Tasmania for Christmas with her eldest.

Newburgh beach to see the seals & Eider ducks

Much as the title suggests really! Although my parents are here for the October holidays too, so getting out and about lots too.

Gorgeously domestic day!

Today we didn't go anywhere but instead had a domestic day of making soup, putting out washing (finally!!) & cleaning out the Steading ready to haul bottom into there with the kitchen that we are insulating (that whole extension is sans insulation!!! & freezing in the winter...even now sitting in there on a reasonably warm day outside you can see your breath!!) Anyway, I used my old trusty hip wrap and put out all the washing and even climbed a ladder to inspect a roof too!

That's our camper 'Vera' in the back...looking forward to adventures in her next summer with Alice!

Double Hammock

I just tried a double hammock with Alice. Got her on my back ok but it wasn't very tight and she slipped down a bit. That and my shoulder straps weren't very tight either...but I liked the way the front looked and was happy with that. Alice was not a happy bunny though...she was a bit tired and didn't want to be manhandled. Hey ho! Will try it with Jamie here next time and he can position her correctly! But still chuffed I managed on my own! :-) (no photos sorry, madam needed to be off my back asap!)
